激战2的世界动态（（Living World）en:Living World）是A社设计出来改变游戏世界的一种模式。更新以篇章形式加入，然后按组分成多个季度。每一篇章都包含个人史诗剧情和其他内容，讲述泰瑞亚持续进行着的故事。世界动态作为扩展包之间故事情节，详细介绍了上一扩展包的后续发展，又为下一个扩展包做铺垫。虽然世界动态第一季的内容大都是临时性的（也没赶上国服公测），但从第二季起，新的剧情都是永久的，而且可以随时重复体验。
最初的世界动态包含新剧情和新功能，但第二季的新功能没有随世界动态更新，而是与新迈古玛扩展包捆绑在一起。第三季开始这种情况不再出现，新功能只要准备就绪就会随版本更新。
从第二季开始，世界动态篇章可以在个人面板的史诗纪实下查看并回顾。

Season 1
Unlike the episodes of Living World Season 2 and onward, the content comprising season 1 was temporary and is not available for replay. Following the conclusion of season 2 and the rebuilding of Lion's Arch, players can learn some of the details of season 1 by completing the Story Journal chapter 牢记绯红战争. - The Living World was originally introduced as the "Living Story", but ArenaNet switched to "Living World" and stopped using Living Story partway through Season 1 (confirmation in July 2013).[1] However, players often continue using Living Story to refer to the Living World releases.
