Victory Conditions are a Mechanic in SCP: Secret Laboratory that determines when a round will end and which team will be decided as the winner.
Currently, a round will only end under the following three conditions:
- Only MTF and Scientists are left alive.
- Only Chaos (25% or less) and SCPs are left alive.
- Only Chaos and Class-D are left alive.
After one of the following three conditions are checked, the winner will be decided based on three factors: The amount of Class-D Escapes, Scientist Escapes, and SCPs still alive. SCP-049-2 instances are not counted as SCPs still alive despite the fact they affect the "number of terminated SCPs" on the round end screen.
Class-Ds or Scientists that escaped while disarmed will NOT be counted towards the amount of Class-D Escapes or Scientist Escapes, despite the fact they will respawn as the opposite team. So while MTF escorting a disarmed Class-D to the escape area will not give them points towards winning, it does prevent the Class-D from being used towards an Insurgency victory, while also giving the MTF an extra teammate.
Conditions Table
Who is left? | Who Wins? |
---|---|
Only MTF and Scientist left | If Scientist Escape is higher than Class-D Escape- Foundation Win (Tie Breaker) |
If Class-D Escape is higher than Scientist Escape- Stalemate | |
Only SCPs (25% of Chaos are alive) | If Scientist Escape is higher than Class-D Escape and alive SCPs - Stalemate |
If more SCPs are alive than both civilian escapes- SCP Win (Tie Breaker) | |
If Class-D Escape is higher than Scientist Escape and alive SCPs- Insurgency Win | |
Only Chaos and Class-Ds left | If Scientist Escape is higher than Class-D Escape- Stalemate |
If Class-D Escape is higher than Scientist Escape- Insurgency Win (Tie Breaker) |
End Screen
Upon the round ending, the End Screen will appear on all player's screens, displaying what team won or stalemate. Each of these have a unique message relating to the team that won.
If the Foundation wins: "All threats to safety have been neutralized. Site-02 is secure once again."
If the Insurgency wins: "Foundation presence has been exterminated. Operatives standing by for further orders."
If the SCPs win: "The escaped subjects have overrun the facility. Emergency response has been scrambled."
If the round ends in a Stalemate: "Site-02 is under certain control, but not without cost. The victor is undetermined."
Additionally, the lower part of the screen will display the following information:
- One of the following two messages are displayed based on the status of the Alpha Warhead.
- "The Alpha Warhead was not detonated during this mission."
- "The Alpha Warhead's detonation terminated X beings."
- X/Y Class-D escaped
- Despite saying escaped, this counts both Class-Ds that escaped and any Class-Ds that are alive at the end of the round.
- X/Y Scientist(s) survived
- Despite saying survived, this counts both Scientist that escaped and any Scientist that are alive at the end of the round.
- X/Y terminated SCPs.
- The Y value will increase by one for each SCP-049-2 instance created in the round, despite this, these instances do not affect the winner of the round, even if their termination is required.
- The mission took X minutes and Y seconds.
- Next round in X seconds.
- The SCPs killed X human beings.
Trivia
- In earlier versions of the game, the team that won at the end of a round was Class-D and MTF instead of Insurgency and Foundation.
- Previously, all it took was one Class-D escaping for the Chaos Insurgency to meet their win conditions.
- One Class-D escaping made it no longer possible for SCPs or the Foundation to win. Making it only possible for the round to end in a Stalemate or Class-D Win.
- Even if the match ended with only SCPs left alive, it would still result in a Class-D Win.
- One Class-D escaping made it no longer possible for SCPs or the Foundation to win. Making it only possible for the round to end in a Stalemate or Class-D Win.
- In older versions, SCPs could still win the game if all of them are killed. This was only possible if there are only Chaos and/or Class-Ds left alive and no Class-D escaped.
- This made it possible for SCPs to win the game early on by simply killing all Facility Guard and Scientist, leaving only the Class-Ds left alive. Afterwards, all the SCPs could suicide via Tesla Gates or Bottomless Pits in HCZ. Forcing the round to end in an SCP Victory.
- This was eventually made impossible when Victory Conditions were changed so Class-Ds that are alive at the end of the round count as having escaped.
- Before the Victory Condition Rework in v11.2.0, both disarmed Scientist and disarmed Class-Ds escaping would count towards Victory Conditions for the opposite team (i.e., disarmed Class-D counted towards MTF Win while disarmed Scientist counted towards Insurgency Win).
- This feature was originally a fairly popular plugin that became base game in the Megapatch II (v9.0.0) update.
