Angry Birds Reloaded is a game in the Angry Birds series, released exclusively for the Apple Arcade subscription service.[1][2] The game released on July 15, 2021, at 11:00 P.M. EST.[3]
Angry Birds Reloaded contains reimaginings of the original Angry Birds and Angry Birds Seasons, along with a direct remake and continuation of Angry Birds Space. The games included contain various changes, most notably the use of the Angry Birds Toons designs for the characters, a new angular art style for the environments, and the addition of various plot elements from The Angry Birds Movie and its sequel. Furthermore, Reloaded contains no advertisements or microtransactions, by virtue of being an Apple Arcade game.
Plot
Bird & Pig Islands
Red catches three Minion Pigs spying on him while showing the different Pig City locations with Bomb, Chuck and the Blues. The pigs run off, but the birds chase them back, and proceed to destroy their fortresses with the aid of the slingshot.
Some time after, Red, Chuck, Bomb and the Blues ascend Eagle Mountain to find Mighty Eagle urinating in the infamous Lake of Wisdom, in which two Minion Pigs and Garry are found swimming and relaxing. The birds then demolish the pig fortresses found in the area.
On Terence and Matilda's wedding day, all seems to go smoothly until Leonard, Chef Pig and a Minion Pig break out of the wedding cake. The birds once again destroy the pigs' structures that were built in the area.
Afterwards, the pigs steal the eggs once more. This journey takes them to Piggy Island, where they face off against two minion pigs, while Leonard and another pig run off with the eggs. Then the birds proceed to demolish the pig fortresses found in the area.
At the Cobalt Plateaus, Bomb exploded, stunning the pigs and leaving the birds to reclaim the eggs, but they have now to keep them away from the hungry hogs, for later to demolish the pig fortresses on the biome.
While on Piggy Island, Red, Chuck and Bomb spy on Pig City on a tree branch, which Leonard saws off. The birds then destroy the structures found in the city, and make it to the Pig Palace.
In there, they find the eggs and try to stealthily make their escape, though Red trips on a spoon, startling Leonard and Chef Pig, who trap the birds in a cage. However, the eggs were fakes that explode when put into the cauldron, freeing the birds and defeating the pigs.
Some time afterward, Red, Chuck and Bomb visit Piglantis, encountering a flirtatious mermaid pig; Red is unamused, Chuck immediately falls in love, and Bomb is disgusted.
Eagle Island
One day, a giant ice ball mysteriously appears on the coast. Red, Chuck, Bomb, Silver, Leonard, Garry and Courtney all come to the scene to investigate. Upon learning that ice balls come from a mysterious third island, Eagle Island, the birds and pigs decide to form a temporary alliance to save their homelands. The team make it to Eagle Island and separate into two groups: Red and Silver go on their own and spy on the eagle guards while the others use the Harvey suit to sneak into the ice cannon launching the ice balls. Upon making it inside the ice cannon, the group rejoins and meets Zeta, the leader of the eagles. Despite the team's efforts to take down the rest of the eagle army, Zeta and some eagle guards still end up capturing them. However, the ice cannon conveniently ends up exploding, freeing the birds and pigs and defeating the eagles.
Later on, Mighty Eagle and Zeta have a wedding, with Red and Leonard there to watch it. However, for unknown reasons, the eagle guards kidnap their leader and make their way to Eagle Island. The birds and pigs resume their alliance to get Zeta back. Making their way into an underground lair, Mighty Eagle eventually finds that Zeta was waiting for him at the top of a staircase.
Secret Area
During Thanksgiving, the birds and pigs have a friendly Thanksgiving dinner. The dinner that Chef Pig serves, though, appears to the birds a slaughtered turkey, which prompts them to attack the pigs. Despite the birds' suspicions, the dinner is just a pumpkin and corn on the cob.
At Christmastime, the birds and pigs once again set aside their differences to celebrate. However, their friendliness is cut short when some Minion Pigs drop a stack of pies on Red and Silver, something Leonard is amused by. This infuriates Red, who retaliates by throwing another pie at Leonard, launching him onto the nearby Christmas tree, causing it to shoot its star directly at Bomb, which makes him explode.
Sometime later, the Daft Piggies host a rave, with Red, Stella, Leonard, Courtney, and a lone Minion Pig taking center stage. Unfortunately, the aforementioned dancers start repeatedly bumping into each other, eventually causing the Daft Piggies' entire setup to collapse. Regardless, everyone at the site, besides the five leading dancers, continues dancing. Later, Red, Chuck, and a Minion Pig play with light sticks when aliens show up, angering Red and startling the other two.
During the summer, Red, Chuck, Bomb, Leonard, Garry, and a Minion Pig travel to a campsite to spend the holiday. However, Bomb's fuse is lit by a nearby campfire, causing him to blow up the whole area.
During the Moon Festival, Matilda prepares a special dinner for the occasion. Chuck, Stella, and Red are excited to tuck in, but the meal is sabotaged by a lone Minion Pig who eats the meal behind their backs. This maddens the Flock, who proceed to attack the pigs.
At Halloween, the Blues have had their candy stolen and are crestfallen about it. Matilda and Terence decide to investigate the situation following a trail of candy wrappers left by a trio of pigs. The wrappers lead to a haunted house, where they find that the one collecting all the candy was Bubbles, who feels embarrassed about being discovered.
Christmas sets in once more, and the pigs are trying to set up a Christmas tree with Red, Chuck, and Stella watching. However, when the pigs put the star on top of the tree, it immediately collapses, launching the food off the nearby table and sending a pie onto Terence's head. This enrages Terence, who was peacefully fishing when this happened.
Later on, during Saint Patrick's Day, Red, Chuck, and Bomb are exploring a field, only to encounter the end of a rainbow. A pot of gold and a pig wearing a leprechaun hat appear from that rainbow. Afterward, during Easter, Red, Matilda, Terence, and the Blues go on an easter egg hunt, only to find a Golden Egg in which a pig dressed as a bunny seizes. Then Red, Chuck, and Hal were on hiking at Machu Picchu, when they see a large inka temple being mined by some Minion Pigs, enraging them.
As the flock is getting ready for the Christmas season with some fishing, they are pelted by snowballs out of seemingly nowhere! The snowballs are from two naughty Minion Pigs. One chucks the final snowball, but it misses the birds and hits their Christmas tree, causing the poor tree to fall. Terence was enraged, cracking the cold ice below.
During the summer again, Terence and his cousin Tony are on a fishing trip, before it is ruined by a swarm of mosquitos brought by the pigs.
Chuck, Red and Stella are enjoying a cruise until Leonard with 2 Minion Pigs take control of the cruise to only to be wrecked and got castaway with birds into a mysterious island.
Red and Silver are walking around the forest, when they are ambushed by the Blues in skeleton costumes. Only then, a loud roar echoes through the forest and surprises the three birds.
Leonard stole 3 Eggs while The Flock are distracted by their cake, enraging the birds once they notice. As the episode continues, the birds beat back Corporal Pig, Foreman Pig, and eventually make their way to Leonard. They brutalize the bearded boar, and retrieve the eggs.
The pigs find a chest full of Viking weaponry and headwear, and set their sights on the eggs, unknown to the Flock's resolve to protect them. Then, Red and Matilda manage to scare off the pigs, with a gust of wind signaling their victory over the pigs.
During San Valentine, Red, Chuck, Bomb and Matilda were waiting for Silver to come, so Red uses a telescope for look for her, only to spot her being captured by a group of Minion Pigs, so they set off to rescue her. After rescuing Silver and defeating Leonard, Silver thanks to Red, Chuck, Bomb and Matilda for rescuing her before they leave.
Space
After going through a warp hole that appears from the sky, the Flock arrives in a world filled with small planetoids in which they gain special transformations. Hordes of pigs enter this realm to snatch up Eggsteroids, but the Flock promptly defeats them before taking on Leonard using the Claw to control a boulder and vegetable-dispensing vehicle. Upon his own defeat, however, Leonard uses his UFO to enter a warp hole, which the birds follow him into.
The Birds arrive in an ice galaxy, just in time to witness the Ice Bird get captured in a bubble, and after the Birds freed him, Ice Birds joins the group, and they defeat more pigs before taking on Leonard again. Later, the birds arrive on the moon of the ice galaxy (Cold Cuts), just in time to witness a Egg get stolen by Foreman Pig to later got defeated by the Flock and they retrieve the Egg.
Afterwards, Red tracks a giant pig called the 'Big Bork' eating an eggsteroid in a region made of sweets and desserts in the galaxy. Then the flock defeats the pig, which makes him spit out the eggsteroid in him, returning him back to a normal pig.
A month later, the flock finds the landing of the Mars Curiosity Rover. Then the pigs also saw it and thought it could be useful for stealing Eggsteroids, so they hijacked it, making the Birds chase it along with the pigs for then later, defeat them. Afterwards they take the rover and run the pigs over with the Mars Curiosity Rover and drive away.
Sometime later, Leonard steals an eggsteroid in an aquatic region in the galaxy, and the Flock gives chase again, before taking on Leonard and his UFO Submarine in order to retrieve the eggsteroid. After defeating him, they are happy that they got the eggsteroid as King Pig takes advantage of this moment to escape.
Afterwards, everyone arrives in a region full of cracking crystal planets, and the birds face off against the pigs that are going to steal the Eggsteroid, but then the Alien Pig steals the same eggsteroid as last time and traps the pigs in crystals.
After the birds defeat the Alien Pig and retrieve the eggsteroids, a huge meteor shower strikes out, The blues zoom in with a conveniently placed telescope, which turns out to be Leonard in a fresh new spaceship mining moon rocks out of a large stone planet. Angry as usual, they charge into battle. After a series of battles, they defeat him once again.
Afterwards, the birds find some green smoke covering a part of the galaxy. When they check, they enter in a region full of brass planets and face off against the pigs once again. Then they later defeat Leonard and his minions and retrieve the eggsteroids.
In an unknown place, a Space Pig builds S.P.A.R.K.. and orders it to find regular eggs rather than Eggsteroids. It travels to the Flock's solar system and scans the presence of multiple eggs in it, including the Space Egg. The Space Pigs pick up S.P.A.R.K.'s signal and travel to the same portal it used, teasing the Flock during their entry without considering their motives. Later, S.P.A.R.K. is destroyed, and the Space Pigs are left to freeze in place on Pluto. The Flock looks at the Space Egg in triumph over its safety.
Immediately after, Hektor Porko swoops into a wormhole with a net of Eggsteroids and regular eggs. The birds follow suit, ending up in a flipped dimension known as the Mirror Worlds.
The Mirror Worlds is also where the mysterious Danger Zone is located. Once the birds find out that the pigs are making wormholes there, they plan their biggest mission yet - they sneak into the mines and defeat the pigs working there. During their journey, a wormhole takes the birds, Hekto Porko, and Leonard to the very first Angry Birds level and the fifth level of Season's Greedings (with the eagles making a cameo). Finally, after a big battle against a machine that uses Eggsteroids to fire off wormholes, the naval mine self-destructs, with a defeated Leonard and Hektor Porko flying away in an escape pod. With the eggs and eggsteroids recovered, the birds set off for even more adventures in outer space.
Abra-Ca-Bacon
The tickets for Birdie's carnival have been hijacked, alongside Stella's favorite costume; the Flock rises to the scene to defeat the pigs and get the tickets and Stella's costume back.
Gameplay
Trying to emulate the gameplay from the earliest Angry Birds games, Angry Birds Reloaded is a puzzle game. In the game, the player takes control of a limited group of birds, who can be launched anywhere by the use of a slingshot. All levels have a series of pigs the player must pop by the use of their characters. These pigs normally appear sheltered inside of structures made of wood, glass, and/or stone, in addition of some additional objects, such as TNT. If the player fails to pop all the pigs in the levels, they will get a Level Failed screen, encouraging them to try again. If they manage to do so however, they will win and pass to the next level. Upon completing each level, the player will receive one, two, or three stars depending on the score received.

Episodes
Angry Birds Reloaded has 42 episodes as of February 2025. Most of the episodes are divided within four different game modes, referred to as episode menus.[4] Bird & Pig Islands is the first episode menu the player has access to, and with the exception of Piglantis, follows a serialised plot loosely based on The Angry Birds Movie. Secret Area is unlocked once the player accumulates 10 stars in Bird & Pig Islands, and has episodes mostly based around certain holidays. Space is unlocked once the player collects 200 stars across the game, and offers direct remakes of episodes from Angry Birds Space. The last episode menu the player unlocks, requiring 560 total stars, is Eagle Island, which is comprised of two serialised arcs: one is an abridged take of the plot of The Angry Birds Movie 2, while the other follows an original plot where the aforementioned film's protagonists having to rescue Zeta from her henchmen.

In addition, while not included in any of the four episode menus, an iteration of Abra-Ca-Bacon from Angry Birds Seasons is included in the Carnival game mode.
Other modes
Settings
The settings menu can be accessed on the game's title screen, via a button with two gears on it found at the corner of the screen. The options that can be found in this menu include:
- Language: allows the player to change in-game text between fourteen languages, including English, French (Françias), German (Deutsch), Italian (Italiano), Portuguese (Português), Spanish (Español), Russian (Русский), Turkish (Türkçe), Dutch (Nederlands), Japanese (日本語), Korean (한국어), Simplified Chinese (简体中文), Traditional Chinese (繁體中文), and Arabic (عربي).
- Support: displays two URLs that redirect to the game's support page and an invite page to the Rovio Gaming Discord server respectively.
- Credits: rolls the game credits for Angry Birds Reloaded, as well as credits for the team that worked on the original Angry Birds.
- Terms of Service and Privacy Policy: checks the official Terms of Service and Privacy Policy for Angry Birds Reloaded. Shortened on the options menu to Terms & Privacy.
- Sound: allows the player to adjust the individual volumes for the game's sound effects and background music.
- No Power-Ups: a toggle that removes Power-Ups from the game when turned on. The player is still able to access the shop and win Power-Ups in the Carnival's Whirlipig with this option on, however.
- Data Collection: toggles the player's data to be shared "anonymously".
- Community: offers a direct link to the invite page to the Rovio Gaming Discord server.
- What's New: lists details about the latest update of Angry Birds Reloaded.
Shop
The shop is where the player is able to buy Power-Ups, using Bird Coins achieved in-game. It can be accessed through a button with a shopping cart icon, which may be found on the title screen or in the in-game pause screen.
Unlike previous Angry Birds games, where power-ups were sold in units containing different amounts of a certain Power-Up, with larger packs having a lower cost per Power-Up than smaller packs, the shop in Angry Birds Reloaded allows the player to choose the exact amount of a certain Power-Up they would like to buy at a time, between 1 to 9. Buying in bulk does not make the cost of each Power-Up in the purchase less than that of purchasing smaller amounts, however.
The following power-ups sold in the shop include:
Carnival
- 主条目: Carnival
The Carnival is an area of the game that serves as a hub for various other game modes found in Angry Birds Reloaded, unlocked after the player accumulates 20 stars. It is presented in the form of a carnival run by Birdie, who will give a brief explanation of each game mode when they are opened for the first time. The modes included are the Whirlipig, Abra-Ca-Bacon (a returning episode from Angry Birds Seasons), Space Hog, the Daily Challenge, and Birdie's Booth. In the former four modes, the player is rewarded with tickets, an alternate currency that may be used within Birdie's Booth to purchase costumes for the playable cast.
Golden Eggs
The Golden Eggs menu allows the player to access any Golden Egg levels that correspond to the Golden Eggs they have collected throughout the game. In addition to Golden Eggs, this menu also houses the Golden Mooncakes from Moon Festival, and has individual pages for the Space episode menu's Eggsteroids and the Golden Eggs exclusive unlocked through Red's Holiday Calendar (though if the player had not unlocked any of its Golden Eggs levels during its run, trying to access the page for Red's Holiday Calendar's Golden Eggs will only show a popup with the artwork of Pie Hard and Pie Hard 2's episode cards behind a lock).
Red's Holiday Calendar
Red's Holiday Calendar was a limited-time feature, added in the 1.17 update, on December 1, 2022. The feature was presented as a digital advent calendar; the menu had 24 numbered doors, which could not be interacted with until the day of December that matched the number on each door, upon which the door in question may have been opened. Opening the doors would provide the player with an award, which could come in the form of coins, tickets, power-ups, costumes, or exclusive Golden Eggs.
The following awards that could be attained in Red's Holiday Calendar include:
- 6 tickets
- 50 coins
- Golden Egg 22
- 2x King Sling
- 50 coins
- Golden Egg 23
- 6 tickets
- Golden Egg 24
- 2x Sling Scope
- Golden Egg 25
- Extra Guady costume
- 6 tickets
- 50 coins
- Golden Egg 26
- 1x Boombox
- 6 tickets
- Golden Egg 27
- 75 coins
- 2x Wingman
- Golden Egg 28
- 6 tickets
- 100 coins
- Elf costume
- Golden Egg 29
Red's Holiday Character was removed from the game on January 5th, 2023, with the release of the 1.18 update. The exclusive costumes from the mode would go on to be made available in Birdie's Booth in the Carnival, though the Golden Egg levels are no longer accessible if the player did not unlock them beforehand.
Frost Festival
- 主条目: Frost Festival
Frost Festival was limited-time episode/event in Angry Birds Reloaded, added in the 3.0 update. This mode gave players a new set of four quests to complete each week, which could range between popping a set number of pigs, breaking certain kinds of materials, collecting stars or eagle feathers, using power-ups, completing specific levels, and using the various modes available in the Carnival. Completing each of the four quests of the week would earn the player 100 coins, 20 tickets, a number of power-ups, and a costume. In addition, completing all four of a week's quests would give the player access to five completely original levels; clearing the levels would earn the player a costume.
As of the 3.1 update, Frost Festival has been removed from the game; unlike with Red's Holiday Calendar, however, the exclusive costumes of the mode have not been made available in Birdie's Booth. The exclusive levels are now also completely inaccessible.
Competition
- 主条目: Competition
Competition is a weekly tournament in Angry Birds Reloaded which was added in the version 3.4 update of the game and opened two weeks later. Competition is located at the bottom center of the menu.
Competition is unlocked after getting 100 stars. The rewards you obtain depending on your placement are:
- 1st-5th place: 1 Wingman and 1 Sling Scope.
- 6th-25th place: 1 Wingman.
Mirror Worlds
- 主条目: Mirror Worlds
Mirror Worlds is a game mode set in an alternate flipped dimension that was added in version 3.8. In this game mode, the levels are flipped to the left side of the screen, redesigned to be more difficult than their original counterparts, and has Hektor Porko in every level as an extra obstacle.
To unlock Mirror Worlds, you must collect 200 stars in the Space section of the game. An animation will play once this is done, and the player can select whether to enter them now or another time.
Egg Hunt
- 主条目: Egg Hunt (Reloaded)
Egg Hunt is another limited-time episode/event in Angry Birds Reloaded, added in the 3.15 update and was available to play on April 11, 2025 at 7:00 AM EST. This mode gave players a new set of levels to complete each week, this event has been fundamentally changed from the original. To beat a level, the pigs being Belchy Pig, Boom Pig, Jetpack Pig, Garry and Leonard, are required to come into physical contact with the eggs to steal them from the birds being Red, Chuck and Bomb on their structures. The birds are not required to be hit to complete a level, but you get 5000 points for doing so, and on top of that some are able to use their abilities when they are hit enough. After collecting all the eggs, you will beat the level and be able to progress with the plan. Every leftover pig grants 10,000 points. The player can get stamps by completing levels and getting 100% on a Level in a similar way you would get a Feather, with said stamps being used to unlock rewards.

Trivia
- When the game was revealed, despite initially being entirely comprised of re-used levels from Angry Birds, Rovio described Reloaded as an original title that is simply based on the older games.[5]
- Many of the sound effects in Angry Birds Reloaded are taken from Angry Birds 2 and Go, most of which originating from various episodes of Angry Birds Toons, while most of the sprites of the birds and pigs resemble the ones from Angry Birds Friends. Some of the sounds from the original game, most notably the launch sounds, Mighty Eagle’s sounds, and the Space Flock’s sounds from Angry Birds Space, are also used.
- The original Angry Birds Friends sprites appear to have been placeholders, as they can be seen in early trailers, and in the in-game tutorials for the playable characters and Power-Ups.
- The game's official reveal trailer takes Angry Birds footage from the YouTube video "Angry Birds (PC Gameplay - 1080p)".[6]
- Concept art shows that the names of each episode's location were used as placeholders before the names of each episode was finalised.[7]
- In the game's App Store description, Leonard is referred to as King Pig.
- This game allows the player to use the Pig Puffer, Flock of Birds, and Space Egg power-ups in non-Space levels, a first for the Angry Birds series.
- Angry Birds Reloaded was initially meant to start a brand new timeline, meant to unify the brand.[8] This seems to have been replaced with the Angryverse, and on August 8, 2022, the official Angry Birds website labeled the game as a part of the Classic Dimension alongside Angry Birds Friends and Angry Birds 2, despite some plot elements, such as Silver's movie-based redesign and Leonard replacing King Pig, cause some continuity errors within the timeline.
- Silver's appearance is based on her movie design rather than her Toons design. Silver's design was also altered to remove her limbs.
- However, Bubbles's appearance is based on his Toons design, rather than his Friends design, being a shaded version of the classic sprite.
- In February 2023, it was said by the senior brand and community manager Buck that Reloaded wouldn't have existed if it wasn't for Apple commissioning it from Rovio.[9]
- For some of the episodes that have newly made levels, some of the pigs appear to be facing the wrong direction. Which is an oddity that isn’t present in some of the earlier or any of the previous slingshot games, this is possibly due to the devs flipping the structures around instead of recreating a flipped version.
