历史

The Pattern 1913 is a pre-Soviet era naval cannon that was carried over into the early Soviet Navy. In 1911, an order was given to the Obukhov State Plant (OSP) to build a semi-automatic 130 mm/60 calibre naval cannon. The design was completed and approved in 1912, but the Imperial Russian Navy wanted a cheaper gun so it was converted to use bagged charges with a Welin breech-block before it entered production in 1913 and was made 55 calibres instead. Along with OSP in Saint Petersburg, the gun was built by Vickers. It was initially used to arm the Svetlana-class light cruisers, the first of its kind built by the Russians, and shortly after, it was used on the Imperatritsa Mariya-class dreadnoughts as anti-torpedo boat weapons due to the increasing size of their targets in the Black Sea. Some of the Vickers-built guns were used as coastal defense batteries on Saaremaa Island (present-day Estonia) because the cruiser they were intended for was still being repaired. When the Russian Civil War broke out, the Pattern 1913 was used to arm river gunboats and floating batteries.

The Soviet Navy, when it was formed, included some of these guns in its arsenal. The only ship of the Svetlana-class to be completed as planned was used by the Soviets as the Krasny Krym. It was also used on the Bogatyr-class cruiser Komintern, the Pallada-class cruiser Aurora, the yacht turned minelayer Marti, the Admiral Nakhimov-class light cruiser Chervona Ukraina, and the gunboat Krasnoye Znamya, which were taken from the Imperial Russian Navy. By World War II, the guns were still in service by these ships along with newer Soviet-built ships such as the Shkval-class monitors, the Krasnaya Abhazia-class gunboats, railroad guns, and the Udarny-class river monitor which notably had increased elevation angles.
